FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What dog breeds does Black Ops K9 offer?
Black Ops K9 trains two dog breeds: German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois. Both breeds have a high sense of responsibility with high work ethics. Most importantly, they bring a comforting sense of security to your home and the companionship of a beloved pet.
All dogs at Black Ops K9 are imported bloodline from East Germany, the part of the country that focuses more on a breed’s work ethic than appearance. Dogs from West Germany are bred as show dogs. Each dog goes through extensive health testing exams to ensure they are as healthy as can be before being transferred to their forever home.
What are the perks of having a Black Ops K9 for personal protection?
Many people carry firearms outside the home as a means of personal protection. However, a highly trained canine can offer advantages over a handgun. First, people using a gun have to be proficient at using it. In a high-stress situation, being ineffective with a firearm is a real possibility for people who are untrained. In fact, during his years in law enforcement, Ty has seen police officers fire 40 rounds at a bad guy and only hit with one or two shots. Also, using deadly force with a firearm can create unwanted and time-consuming legal issues. Conversely, a protection dog can provide non-lethal force. Finally, in some cases, a firearm can be taken and used against you by a perpetrator. A trained canine cannot be taken from you and used against you.
How much does a Black Ops K9 cost?
Black Ops K9 dogs cost anywhere from $50,000 to $250,000. Prices vary based on the training level. We do an interview with the client to see what their needs are then go from there on pricing.
Is anyone restricted from having a personal protection dog?
No. The law doesn’t govern that, so anybody can have one.
If I purchase a dog from someone else, can I bring it to your facility for training?
Yes. Depending on the level the client needs the dog to be at, we may train it for 30 days or longer.
What makes you passionate about training personal protection dogs?
I love helping people stay safer in this crazy world we live in. I also enjoy breeding a high-quality dog that is a great family dog and a great protector.
What should people consider when buying a protection dog?
The bloodline and the quality of training.
